Our Mission

Raise your hand if you’ve seen a lifeless kitty strewn on the side of the road . . .

Raise your hand if you have ever seen a weathered sign reading “LOST CAT” . . .

Raise your hand if you’ve read a news article on cats being targeted for acts of cruelty . . .

A Long Island-native encountered these tragic sights time and again in her community, & continually heard echoing stories from family and friends.  An animal-lover since childhood, and a current biology graduate student, this woman decided to focus her master thesis on tackling these problems and other related issues.  Her studies uncovered that there were many diverse (and some surprising) voices which shared these concerns.  If only there was a place where these varied platforms could all be represented in one place… somewhere they could connect with each other and with cat owners... Voila!  The House Cat Connection was born!

The best place for a cat is inside a home where he is safe and loved.  This website was not created to preach or scold anyone.  This is a place for cat-lovers to be informed by a variety of dedicated partners with a variety of stances and priorities.  Our website focuses on owned pet cats, rather than feral or barn cats.  It's important to us that the information you find on this site comes straight from the source - no spin.  This is why we work hard to bring you direct quotes from, and documents authored by our professional partners.  We hope that you’ll learn new things, and feel inspired to do what’s truly best for your cat.  We know that no one loves your cat more than you.  That being said, you should always feel that this is a “safe place” for you and for your questions and suggestions.  We will continue to update and improve the site to ensure that you have all the facts.

Thank you for reading about us and our mission.  Please be sure to explore the messaging from each of our partners.

With Love, The House Cat Connection
